    • The Earth Star (scientific name: Cryptanthus bivittatus, specifically the 'Pink Starlight' or 'Pink Star' cultivar) is a unique, ground-dwelling bromeliad native to the rainforests of Brazil. Unlike most bromeliads that grow on trees (epiphytes), Earth Stars grow in the soil (terrestrial), making them very easy to pot as houseplants.

    Keep the Earth Star in bright, indirect light to maintain its vibrant pink color. Unlike other bromeliads, water the soil directly to keep it moist. Boost humidity with misting or a pebble tray. It’s compact and pet-friendly!

    Care Guide

    Always check your plants before watering, the topsoil should be dry to touch. For succulents allow the potting mix to dry completely before watering again.

    The plant needs a knowing eye of a gardener to understand what it needs. Fairly easy to grow if you take care of their set of requirements.
